Anything Is Possible If You Try

Here is a selection of paintings that I created one day. I was in a decorating mood, but couldn't stand the thought of buying pre-packaged art for my house. Seriously, who really wants a crappy knock-off of a really famous painting? Not me.

I had never painted before, but thought it would be interesting to give it a try.

First, I went to Wal-Mart and bought some bottles of acrylic paint that were on clearance for 50 cents each. Then I went to Michael's and picked up two or three brushes and some cheap canvases.

Next, I spread everything out on my living room floor and started to experiment.

Within 24 hours, I had finished all of these paintings and now have them displayed throughout my home.

first painting

This (above) is my first painting. I had no idea what I was doing and even less an idea what I wanted to paint. I just relied on the same force that enables me to play improvisational music and simply channeled energy from my imagination.

wild couple

This painting was probably my third or fourth and it shows how much I'd learned along the way. It's one of my favorites.

gren man

This painting and the one below it were painted as a complimentary pair to hang in a special place above an entertainment center. Somehow, to me, they're related. They make a handsome couple.

This last painting (below) was created to hang in the bathroom. It has a strangely calming effect.
